There are two things you need to understand about an email address in order to successfully do an email search. The first part of an email address id the user’s name or email ID. For example, John_Doe is the user name.
The second part of the email address is the email domain. The domain is simply the company or web site that manages the email accounts. For example, mymail.com could be the domain name. The email ID and the domain name are separated by the @ symbol. So, in this example the entire email address would be John_Doe@mymail.com.
Keep in mind that the email ID could be case sensitive. That means john_doe@mymail.com could be different than John_Doe@mymail.com. However, in many instances the email ID is the same regardless of the case.
Because there is not a single email directory that contains the email addresses of all the people in the world, you’ll have to use other ways to locate an email address for someone.
Once you’ve received an email, it’s easy to keep track of. All you need to do is look at the From: field in the email you received. The email address follows this field. Also, if the email address has brackets <> around the name, don’t include them in the email address.
The easiest way to find an email address is to give them your email address and ask that person to send you an email. Then, add their email to your email address book.

If all else fails, you can try an Internet search for the name. Goggle, Yahoo and MSN are the most popular search engines. The more you know about a person the easier it is to locate an email address. For example, you need to know the first and last name. If you know the middle name, it’s better. You need to know the state. If you know the city or zip code, you’re more likely to find the email address.
Because there are so many people with the same name, it’s better to put quotes around the name when searching. This will eliminate every person who has the same first or last name.
If you want to find someone’s email, be persistent. People change email addresses often. So, don’t get discouraged if you don’t find it on the first or second try.
